![]() If you notice someone who is missing from this list of all time Chiefs, feel free to add him. ![]() This list of the best Kansas City Chiefs dates back to the team's formation in 1995. Thomas was one of the most feared defensive players in the league and along with Buchanan, is considered one of the best Chiefs of all time. Beginning with Neil Smith in 1988, the Chiefs hit the jackpot when they drafted superstar linebacker Derrick Thomas in 1989. The late '80s saw the Chiefs draft two of the greatest players in team history, including one of the best linebackers ever. With the foundation of the team in place, the Chiefs won Super Bowl IV with a convincing 23-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. That Chiefs team is considered one of the best teams in franchise history.Īfter those initial glory years, the Chiefs wallowed in the NFL wilderness for years. Superstars like Len Dawson, Buck Buchanan, Abner Haynes and Otis Taylor were on the Chiefs during the formative days of the franchise. Many of the greatest players in Chiefs history were on these teams. The Chiefs had some of the best players in the AFL during those early days. The franchise started in 1960, but moved to KC in 1963. Founded by football pioneer Lamar Hunt, the Kansas City Chiefs were originally the Dallas Texans. When West is hot, he’s hot, but otherwise, he doesn’t make much of an impact and that could lead to him playing for another team next year. This is a list of the best Kansas City Chiefs of all time. ![]() What I will say works in West’s favor is how he had four total touchdowns last year (two on the ground and two through the air). That year saw West run for 634 yards with five total touchdowns on the season. West wasn’t able to make a big impact last year even with Ware out of the action, which shows that he probably is never going to match his 2015 production again. His numbers have gone down significantly and with the likes of Kerwynn Williams and Damien Williams now behind Kareem Hunt on the depth chart, not to mention Spencer Ware hopefully returning, West is probably in danger of getting cut. While West was once a nice story, he’s proven over the last few years that he’ll never be anything more than a backup in the league. Charcandrick West, a former undrafted standout from Abilene Christian, will be heading into his fifth year with the Chiefs and it’ll be a critical time to prove himself if he wants to remain in Kansas City. This one seems like a no-brainer, as the Chiefs have been adding running backs like crazy this past offseason. ![]() VETERANS THAT MIGHT NOT MAKE THE ROSTER – CHARCANDRICK WEST ![]() So, without further ado, let’s dive right into the five veteran Chiefs whose roster spot could be in trouble this summer. This post will only include veteran players who could be let go before the regular season kicks off in September. Up next is discussing which members of the Kansas City Chiefs could be in jeopardy of making the team next season. It’s the NFL offseason and that means more speculative posts like these.
